About this Event
Lionel O’Brien is a Yamatji man from the Mount Magnet/Cue area.
He learnt guitar at an early age of from his older sister and brother, the inspiration for his life’s music journey. He plays country, rock and blues styles and has performed with artists of the calibre of Kevin Gunn, Graham Ahkim & the Meekatharra country rock band, and the Bartlett Brothers. He’s also opened for YABU band among many others.
Lionel is joined by Richard Nelly on rhythm guitar, along with other guests to make up ‘Marru Strings’. Listeners can expect Lionel’s own songs plus some classic country from Slim Dusty, George Jones, Merle Haggard and Troy Cassar-Daley.
