Fred Ryan is a Yamatji man from Western Australia’s Murchison and Kimberley regions. He is a singer/songwriter and guitarist, and country music runs through his veins. As a young boy, he was raised around country music, where his pursuit of learning to play the guitar began – the rest is history! Fred’s style is influenced by old and new artists ranging from Slim Dusty and Merle Haggard to Keith Urban. His performances include a collaboration of original work, a mix of Australian and American country and country-rock cover songs.

Fred has a long list of achievements, having performed in places like Tamworth, and Boyup Brook at the Country Music Festivals and, more recently, the Songs for Peace tour held in Hobart, Perth, Darwin, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Roebourne. With a passion for entertaining a local crowd, Fred enjoys sharing his music from the Pilbara to Perth and all the towns in between.

To compliment his brilliant talents in songwriting, singing and playing guitar, Fred has a wealth of unique life experiences in outback Western Australia, providing the foundation for song creation. Real-life stories influence his work, inspiring Fred to paint a musical picture, capturing raw experiences of his own and the people he has met throughout his life. His work is featured on the recently released album Songs For Freedom, writing and co-producing two songs – Songs of Freedom and Little Town Big Heart.
