Hip Hop workshop with Razzy Mak and Zero Emcee

Aimed at the younger festival goers, this 2 hour workshop focusses on lyric writing, vocal recording & performance with the opportunity to be involved in a performance in Razzy’s mainstage set.

Razzy Mak is a Yamaji Rapper from Western Australia. Born in Port Hedland, raised in Broome, Geraldton and Perth, Razzy has a fresh style, influenced by both old school and new school rappers. Razzy started ‘freestyle’ rapping and writing lyrics in boarding school and after years of developing his craft, released a number of singles, mixtapes & music videos, building a strong following in his home state. ” As an Indigenous Australian I want show the world my talent, not only for myself, but for my people. I want to inspire other young Indigenous & non Indigenous people to follow their dreams, show them that anything is possible!!”

Zero Emcee won the 2018 NAIDOC Emerging Artist Award and has worked in many different scenarios, including joining the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) for a collaboration called Beats & Pieces, a highlight of their 2023 program. Recent work has included a stint at the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in the Northern Territory, teaching hip hop to detainees.
